Abstract

695,064. Tennis, &c. rackets. KERR, H. M. May 13, 1952. [May 15, 1951] No. 11257/51. Class 132 (ii). A tennis, &c. racket comprises a closed substantially oval head frame 1 joined to the shaft 7 by a T-piece 3, the cross arm 2 of which is forked parallel to the plane of the frame 1, the inner prong 4 being received in a socket 5 in the frame and the outer prongs 41 straddling the frame. The piece 3 may be of laminated wood or of metal and may be formed of part of the shaft or have a socket 6 receiving the shaft. The frame 1 is made of laminated wood, the laminations being longer than the periphery of the frame and being tapered at their ends so that they may overlap as at 10, 11 to form a thickened portion where the frame joins the shaft.
