Abstract

968,738. Sack holders. PAPER SACKS Ltd. April 9, 1963 [April 12, 1962], No. 14134/62. Heading B8C. A paper sack for refuse is supported by being clamped around its mouth between a releasable band 6, 7 and an open frame 1 which is attached by a horizontal pivot pin 5 to a fixing bracket 2 for screwing to a wall, the part 6 of the band being fixed to the bracket so as to form two extending arms so that when applying the sack part of the mouth is trapped between these arms and the frame. The releasable band clamps the refuse sack in a groove 3 around the frame 1 and consists of the semicircular portion 6 rigidly secured to the fixing bracket 2 and a removable length 7 connected about a vertical pivot 8 at one end of the fixed portion and releasably connected at its other end to the other end of the fixed portion by means of a spring 10 and catch 9 with hole 11 fastened to the fixed half of the band and the hook 12 on the removable half. Finger grips 13, 14 facilitate clamping and unclamping with one hand. Frame 1 is temporarily supported in the raised position shown in Fig. 1 by pushing it rearward until notches 17 engage in a supporting rod 18 formed by the folded over ends of pin 5. In use the rear half of the sack is placed between the fixed portion 6 of the band and frame 1 so that by lowering the frame from its raised position the fixed half of the band clamps the bag in the groove 3. Clamping is completed by joining the clip members 11 and 12. A lid 19 with its weight counterbalanced by a spring 21 and hinged along the pivot pin 5 will cover the frame 1.
