IMPEOVE'D EXTENSION TABLE.

The Schedule referred to in these Letters Patent and making part of the same.

To all whom 'it/may concern l Be it known that I', CHARLEs PHILIP? Lenz, of

Poughkeepsie, iu the county of Dutchess, and State of New York, have invented a new and improved Extension Table; and l do hereby declare ,that the following is a full, clear, and exact description thereof, which will enable others skilled' in the art to make and use the same, reference being had to the accompanying drawing forming ,part of this specification. 4

Figure 1 represents a side elevation of my improved vexttmsion table.

Figure 2 is a vertical transverse section of the same, taken. ou the planeof the linea: a: g. l.

Similar letters of 'reference indicate corresponding parts.

This invention has for its object to so improvey extension tables that thesanie will constitute areceptacle for the table-covers, napkins, and -otherr articles used on the table.

i The invention consists in combining a bureau or g case, containing drawers or shelves, with the table,

the said bureau `or ease forming the support of the middle set of rails, and being thereby out of the w'ay,

and almost entirely out of sight.

A A in the drawing are the ends of t an extension table of suitable form, size,and construction.

` B B are the extension v'rails of the same, B being the `middle set of rails, which is usually supported by a-centrall standard or leg.

I employ four legs, C O, for. supporting'the middle set of rails.

The four legs are arranged to form the corners of-a "bureau orcase, D,whicl1 is built up between them, as

shown.

` This bureau or case is either provided witlrdrawers, or with doors.aud shelves'. It is a convenient receptacle for all articles that are frequently used on the table.

The several legs of the table, including those of the bureau, are to be provided with casters, in the ordinary mannen` If one of the casters should be lost,

there will still be a suicie'nt-numbcr to hold the tableV steady. V

Having thus described my invention,

I 'claim as new, anddesire to secure by Letters Patent- The combination of an, extension table with a bu' reau or case, supporting the central pairof extension rails, as set forth.
