Description

UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
JOHN QUINCY ADAMS, OF MARSEILLES, ILLINOIS.
DESIGN FOR A LINK.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 32,215, dated February 13, 1900. Application filerlDeoember 18, 1899. Serial No. 740,828. Term of patent 14 years.
To all who/1t it may concern.-
Be it known that I, JOHN QUINCY ADAMS, a citizen of the United States, residing at Marseilles, in the county of La Salle and State of Illinois, have invented and produced a new and original Design for Links, of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, forming a part thereof.
Figure 1 is a perspective view of a link, showing my new design. Figs. 2 and 3 are respectively a plan view and an end elevation thereof.
As shown in the drawings, the essential feature of my design is the link consisting of the side, bars connected at one end by the cylindrical end piece and at the other end by an end piece having a hook projecting therefrom, and the vertical flange A, centrally located on and projecting upward from the side of the side bar B of the link.
The body of the link consists of the side bars Band C, connected by the cylindrical end piece D and the other end piece E, having the hook F projecting therefrom, one of the side bars having the reduced portion, as at G. The flange A projects from the side of the side bar B at substantially the center of and at right angles to the length of the link. The flange A has the strengthening-ribs H and I extending vertically and horizontally, respectively, along the corresponding edges of the flange that are adjacent to the side bar. The flange A is provided with the aperture J.
Having described my invention, what I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-
The design for a link, substantially as herein shown and described.
JOHN QUINCY ADAMS.
