Finland's immigration agency, Migri, says it is processing work-based residence permits more quickly than last year.

Residence permits submitted by people who are working, or want to work, in Finland are being processed nearly twice as fast as they were in 2020, with the wait time down to 77 days from 143 days last year.

Migri's goal, which was set by the government, is to get the wait time down to one month. It aims to achieve that during the course of 2023, in part by automating part of the process.

The agency has been heavily criticised for long waiting times at service points and delays in getting permits for workers who want to move to Finland.
