Finland has granted one million euros in humanitarian assistance to Myanmar, which was struck by a powerful earthquake last week.
The Foreign Ministry said the aid was granted to the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) and will be channelled through the Finnish Red Cross.
With support from Finland, the IFRC will assist internally displaced persons, women and girls, and people with disabilities, according to a press release from the Finnish government.
"The earthquake in Myanmar has caused substantial damage. Finland supports the provision of health care services, clean water, sanitation and hygiene supplies and temporary shelter," Minister for Foreign Trade and Development Ville Tavio said.
Myanmar's humanitarian situation was already difficult before the natural disaster due to the ongoing conflict in the country, according to the Ministry for Foreign Affairs.
