Nil Venditti & Virpi Räisänen
The season’s theme composer is Finnish-American Lara Poe. Her Onerva cycle consists of five songs exploiting the vocal potential of the mezzo-soprano to the full, and two interludes. The overall span reaches from melancholy autumnal mood via a dramatic climax to the crystal beauty of a wintry oak tree.
