Abstract

1,025,736. Packages; reclosable bags. RIEGEL PAPER CORPORATION. Feb. 28, 1963 [March 30, 1962], No. 8095/63. Headings B8C and B8K. A bacon pack blank with diagonal score lines at the corners to accommodate the thickness of the contents is folded about a central line 11 (Fig. 1, not shown), the two walls are adhesively secured at 26, 27, and an end closure flap 25a is formed to overlap the edge 16, by adhesively securing the portion 24 to the portion 25. The top panel 13 has crease lines 17, 18 and side notches 33, 34 to facilitate partly opening the pack by a predetermined amount, and subsequently the pack may be reclosed by the flap 25a. Score lines to ease tearing the pack open are made immediately inward of the adhesive side seams and a transparent window 22 is placed in the upper wall. In an alternative embodiment the end closure flap 25a is formed on the upper wall 13. To accommodate the thickness of the contents of the pack short holding score lines 32 are made at the corners of the pack in the top and bottom walls. The blank may be made of a material with heat-sealable properties or may have a heat-sealable coating over part of or its entire surface.
