Abstract

256,816. Johnson, K.. G. Oct. 5, 1925. Joints with longitudinal pressure and with yielding outer part compressed.-A connecting device for use with expansible hose such as lead piping, rubber tubing and the like is provided with separate short longitudinal indentations 17 to increase the holding effect on the pipe 8. The device comprises a nipple 14 with a rounded end with an annular groove 16, and a screwed sleeve 5 which is passed over the nipple embracing the pipe 8 which is rounded inwardly to correspond to the nipple 14. In a modification, the sleeve 5 is threaded on the exterior and engages within a socket on the interior of the nut 10.
