Joints with longitudinal pressure and with yielding outer part compressed. -A flexible pipe B is connected to a non-flexible pipe by means of a fitting A which is threaded internally at a and has a threaded or plain integral spigot c. Two flexible pipes may be connected by a similar double-ended spigot-andsocket fitting. The space between the spigot- and socket in each case is less than the thickness of the flexible pipe used in co-operation therewith.
