Spigot-and-socket screwed joints; joints with yielding outer part compressed. - The internal reinforcement 12 of armoured hose 13 is positively earthed by compacting the turns of s a, i d reinforcement adjacent the end of the hose and by providing the coupling member 15 with screwthreads 17 of the same pitch, that is of pitch equal to the diameter of the wire to screw into the hose. When the hose pipe is reinforced also externally with wire 11, this reinforcement is earthed by means of the usual coupling clip 18 which is connected to the coupling member 15 by a wire.
