Abstract
349,880. Centrifugal-machines. AKTIEBOLAGET SEPARATOR, 8, Fleminggatan, Stockholm. Sept. 26, 1930, No. 28861. Convention date, Sept. 28. [Class 23.] Density separators.-A centrifugal bowl with outlets M at or near its periphery for the discharge of separated solids, has a chamber C in its upper part for the reception of the liquid to be treated, and a chamber O for the reception of an additional liquid which assists in discharging the solids. The liquid to be treated is supplied through the tube A and passes through the openings B into the chamber C. It then travels through the channels E into the bowl. The heavy liquid constituent passes through the channels G, and discharges over the exchangeable regulating disc I, while the lighter liquid constituent rises through the channels J and discharges through the outlets K which may be provided with regulating members. The additional liquid is passed through the tube N to the chamber O from which it passes through channels R in the hood S to points in the neighbourhood of the outlets M. The chambers C, O and the channels E. R, J may be formed in one special part fixed to the bowl hood, and the channels G may be rifles on the outer side of this part or on the inner face of the hood S.
