Abstract

526,355. Catalysts cracking hydrocarbons. STANDARD OIL DEVELOPMENT CO. March 14, 1939, No. 8152. Convention date, May 20, 1938. [Classes 1 (i) and 32] A catalyst for the conversion of hydrocarbon oils is obtained by forming a silica hydrogel under such conditions that the dried gel will have an apparent density between 0.4 and 0.8, impregnating said hydrogel with a decomposable salt of aluminium, and heating to dry the gel and convert the salt into aluminium oxide. Specifications 280,939, [Class 1 (i)], and 504,614 are referred to.
