Abstract
588,880. Chairs. TALBOYS MANUFACTURING CO., Ltd., and SMITH, C. G. March 8, 1945, No. 5841. [Class 52 (ii)] Tubular metal chairs, which may be of the kind constructed for nesting, are secured together in a row by slidably interengaging means at the bottom of the frames. In the construction shown the horizontal tubes 7 connecting the lower ends of the front and rear legs 6, 4 are provided with complementary channel members 8, 9 so that adjacent chairs can be connected by a transverse sliding movement along the floor. The chairs are further connected by a rod 11 passing through the tubes 1 at the rear of the seats. More than one set of channel members may be provided on each chair.
