Abstract

860,129. Lined cartons. CROWTHER, H. A. H. June 13, 1957 [June 13, 1956], No. 18302/56. Class 18. A carton contains a liquid holding flexible bag 1 having a pouring nozzle 2 which passes through a wall 5 of the carton and is externally closured by a resilient plug 4a having a thin end portion 4c and an elastic skirt 4b which can be swung around a flange 3 of the plug. The nozzle 2 is passed through a circular aperture 4 in a sloping area 15 of the front wall F of the rectangular carton. Hand or finger openings 8 may be formed by incisions 5 in opposing sides of the carton and the carton may be formed from a blank of sandwiched corrugated paper the top wall T providing three superposed layers 11, 16 and 19 whilst the bottom comprises two superposed layers. A strip of plastic material may extend down the front wall F of the carton for protection during the pouring of the liquid. Specification 470,720 is referred to.
