Abstract

910,412. Valves. NEELY, E. M. March 25, 1959, No. 10403/59. Class 135. A water-cooled flange 1 for a high temperature gas line valve of the type wherein an apertured valve plate 5a, Fig. 7, is releasably clamped between seats 5 on two such flanges, comprises a body member including a tubular element 1a having two spaced circumferential substantially radial outer ridges 1b, 1c and an inner circumferential substantially radial ridge 1d on which the valve seat 5 is provided, and a ring-shaped member such as that shown at 9, 10, Fig. 2, or 22, 23, Fig. 7, welded to the body member of the flange so as to form therewith an annular chamber in which a transverse partition 8a is provided between a cooling water inlet 11 and outlet 12.
