Abstract

926,198. Plastic bags. CANADIAN INDUSTRIES Ltd. Feb. 1, 1961 [Feb. 4, 1960], No. 3810/61. Class 94(2). A closed plastic bag 1 contains material of a granular kind and has a plurality of flapforming arc-shaped or substantially U-shaped cuts near its filling end 2 so that, when the bag is compressed the flaps 3 open quickly to release the compressed air within, and close again to lie flush with the surface of the bag. The flaps may have the shapes shown in Fig. 2. Such a polythene bag liner in a multi-wall paper bag of size 31 inches by 17 inches by 4¢ inches containing a 50 lb. load of # inch cubes, may have for example, twelve semi-circular “ inch cuts equally spaced at the filling end. Reference has been directed by the comptroller to Specification 886,612.
