The Helsinki District Court has obliged Heikki Haavikko, Chief Executive of the Art House Publishing Company to disclose to the police who wrote a book concerning the business dealings of service provider, Sonera.
The court says Haavikko must disclose to the National Bureau of Investigation all available information which would help to establish guilt in its preliminary inquiry.
The case centers on a book published last year which made charges against top Sonera management with regard to failed UMTS business deals, for example.
Under suspicion of libel, the police want Haavikko to disclose in court who were the writers of the book.
An appeal against the district court's decision can be made. Haavikko's lawyers have indicated that such an appeal will be filed.
No decision concerning the case is likely to be implemented until it has reached the higher courts.
