UNITED STATES PATENT; OFFICE.
JAMES A. SUMNER AND ZIGLER HOENSTINE, OF LOUISVILLE, NEBRASKA DESIGN FOR A TRACE-CARRIER.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 32,996, dated July 24, 1900. Application filed April 19, 1900. Serial No. 13,546; Term of patent 7 years,
To aZZ whom it may concern:
Be it known that we, JAMES A. SUMNER and ZIGLER HOENST INE, citizens of the United States, residing at Louisville, in the county of Cass and State of Nebraska, have invented and produced a certain new and original Design for Traceflarriers; and we do declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the invention, such as will enable ers skilled in the art to which it appertains to make and use the same.
The invention relates to a new and original design for a trace-carrier; and it consists of a design of the shape and configuration shown in the accompanying drawings, in which- Figure 1 is a plan view. Fig. 2 is a side view, and Fig. 3 is an end view.
The design comprises abase-plate 1, formed with a central longitudinal slot or opening at, having its side walls a curved regularly in the arc of a circle in an outward direction from a central point, the corresponding areshaped portions of the two side walls being arranged to face each other, as shown. This slot or opening is bounded by the sides 2 and which cover said lugs and whose upper surfaces are fiat or plane-surfaced and lie in the same horizontal plane. The convex sides of these heads 7 face outwardly, while the concaved sides thereof face inwardly and correspond to the curvature of the side walls a. The butt or wide curved or rounded ends of the heads also face the end 4 of the plate, and the tapered inwardly-projecting point ends thereof face the end 5 of the plate. The flat end 4 is joined to the plate 1 by a transversely-extending V-shaped arch-bar 8, which.
curves outwardly and laterally from its verten or central point and is formed with straight and vertical pendent legs 0. To this central point is connected a longitudinallycxtendin g arch-bar 9, having a central curved portion and a straight and vertical leg (I, rising from the end 5, in rear of the long and narrow longitudinal slot 29 therein.
The particular shape and configuration of the parts 1, 6, 7, and 8 constitute the essential features of the design and impart to the same a peculiar and distinctive form and appearance.
Having thus described our invention, what we claim is- The design for a trace-carrier, as herein shown and described.
In testimony whereof we have hereunto set our hands in presence of two subscribing witnesses.
